6-15-19 Jim Paul at KTSM AM 690
Both hours, Jim Paul’s stories were a lot of fun. He purchased the Double-A El Paso Diablos in 1975 for $1,000 and turned them into such a success that the franchise was valued at approximately $4 million when he sold it in 1996. Jim Paul pioneered many innovations which later became ballpark standards, including nachos and fireworks shows. He was also the first Minor League team owner to hire the San Diego Super Chicken Jim spread his ideas throughout baseball via the renowned El Paso Promotional Seminar, which drew hundreds of attendees each year and is still thriving today under the ownership of Minor League Baseball.
